Talented female racer Alice Hughes has announced her plans for the upcoming season as she’ll make a return to the highly competitive Mighty Mini Championship with Agouti Motorsport. Hughes competed in the 750 Motor Club Hot Hatch championship last season, improving throughout the season to collect a number of strong finishes. Speaking of her delight at returning to the Mighty Mini Championship, Alice commented “2017 is looking to be an extremely exciting year! I’ve not only re-joined the Mighty Mini Championship, I’ve been offered a drive with Agouti Motorsport, making it a strong team of 4 drivers”.
Alice will significantly benefit from being in a strong team with a number of teammates to compare notes with and further each other’s development. Hughes will not be the only female driver at the team with former Ginetta Junior Champion Sarah Moore making a welcomed return to full-time racing and will be targeting progress throughout the year. Commenting on her partnership with her new team, Hughes said “Sarah Moore & I are paired in the Mighty Minis and Josh Young & Connor O’Brien are paired in the Supers. The team not only compliment each other on the track, we also compliment each other off track as we all specialise in different areas of the commercial aspect of Motorsport, which simply completes the team”.
Along with being a top class race team, Agouti Motorsport works hard for charitable causes and Hughes is delighted to help with the fundraising efforts, commenting “Agouti Motorsport is partnered with the Children’s Air Ambulance and it thrills me to be supporting and backing such a fantastic organisation. They fly critically ill children across the UK to receive the specialist care that they need. Every day in the UK, there are two children who need their help and I can only assume that number will increase over time so we’re here as a team to help promote and publicise the awesome work that they do. The Mini Action day at Castle Combe saw us raise a whopping £3000+ for the air ambulance doing passenger rides around the circuit all day”.
With a bumper grid expected in the Mighty Mini Championship this season, Alice will be hoping to take her racing to another level and surpass her achievements of 2015 when she last competed in the one-make series. Alice is excited for the start of the season and encourages fans to follow along, stating “The first round of the Mighty Mini Championship is located at Silverstone on March 25th & 26th which will be on Live TV, definitely not one to be missed”.
There’s still time to get involved with Alice before the season gets underway, with 2017 set to be the most exciting and successful date. Hughes says “We are still actively seeking more sponsorship partners to come on board and help fund this exciting venture of ours so please don’t hesitate to contact Alice Hughes Racing on Facebook or Twitter!
