Coming into this season with no racing experience, Shanel has proven her talents on a number of occasions by overcoming adversity to collect a series of strong results in the Junior Saloon Car Championship. In just her first weekend racing at Oulton Park, Drewe was able to compete with more experienced drivers to collect a superb 17th place result after some close and competitive battles. Shanel backed this up with further improvements at Pembrey where she collected her first top-15 finish, showcasing her talents in one of the most competitive junior series in the country.

Shanel was spotted for her talent behind the wheel, especially her superb race starts which were a trademark of her season, including a wonderful opening lap at Donington where she gained 11 places on the first lap alone. Despite struggling with a couple of mechanical issues during the middle part of the season, Drewe was able to team up with Jade Developments at Croft, with thanks to the support of DansoftAS where she enjoyed one of her best meetings to date, running top-15 lap times during both races.

The Michelin Clio Cup Series is a perfect stepping stone for any drivers who are looking to forge a career in tin top racing. Serving as an ideal feeder series to the Renault UK Clio Cup, the Michelin Clio Cup Series features two separate classes for both road and race spec Renault Clio’s. The championship has helped current British Touring Car Championship drivers learn their trade with Josh Cook even competing in one round at Croft to sharpen his skills during the summer break. With the ability to move up into the race class as the perfect next step, Shanel’s decision to compete in the Michelin Clio Cup Series has a range of benefits.

Shanel will be teaming up with Jade Developments next season who are team with a wealth of experiencing in preparing and running in the Michelin Clio Cup Series. With cars in both the road and race series during 2016, Jade Developments are well-equipped to help Drewe make her next step in motorsport and have already helped her to improve significantly during the Junior Saloon Car Championship meeting at Croft. With a number of victories under their belt his season, Jade Developments look set to claim the Michelin Clio Cup Series road class title with Shanel hoping to follow in the footsteps of their current drivers in contesting for victories next year. Shanel is currently seeking support to fund a winter testing period to help give her the best preparation possible for the race weekends, something which Drewe didn’t have for her Junior Saloon Car Championship campaign.
